TEDSF Showcases Renewable Energy Workshop at UJ Community Engagement Day
TEDSF showcased its Renewable Energy Workshop at the University of Johannesburg's Community Engagement Day, highlighting the importance of sustainable energy education. Through its interactive stall, TEDSF engaged students and community members on solar power, green careers, and the shift to renewable energy, reinforcing its commitment to community development and future-focused learning.
TEDSF was invited to exhibit at the University of Johannesburg’s Community Engagement (CE) Day, an event focused on celebrating impactful partnerships and initiatives that drive social development. The day aimed to highlight collaborations that use the knowledge and resources of higher education institutions to meet the real needs of communities.
As part of the exhibition, TEDSF hosted a stall to educate attendees about its Renewable Energy Workshop a programme designed to introduce individuals to the basics of renewable energy, particularly solar power. The stall served as an information hub where TEDSF representatives engaged with UJ students and community members about sustainable energy, career opportunities in the sector, and the importance of transitioning to greener alternatives.
This initiative aligns with the goals of Community Engagement, which promotes active, mutually beneficial relationships between universities and external groups. TEDSF’s participation reflected its ongoing commitment to community development, education, and preparing youth for future-focused industries.
The foundation thanks UJ for the opportunity to take part in this meaningful event and looks forward to continuing to empower communities through practical and relevant learning opportunities.
